The cathedral
Tempio Malatestiano (Basilica Cattedrale di Santa Colomba), Rimini stands in Rimini, the church that holds the cathedra from which this see takes its name.

History
The Latin Church diocese of Rimini (Latin: Dioecesis Ariminensis) lies in Emilia Romagna, Italy. From the earliest times it answered directly to the Holy See, resisting repeated efforts by the Diocese of Ravenna to bring it under its authority as a suffragan; since 1604, however, it has belonged to the province of the Archdiocese of Ravenna-Cervia. The episcopal see is the cathedral of Rimini, the Tempio Malatestiano, dedicated to the Holy Spirit (Sancta Columba).
