The Diocese of Sumbawanga is a Latin-rite diocese in the Rukwa Region of southwestern Tanzania, given its current name in 1969 (formerly Karema). It is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Mbeya and has been led since 2018 by Bishop Beatus Christian Urassa.

History

Sumbawanga in Tanzania is the seat of this Roman Catholic diocese (Latin: Dioecesis Sumbavangensis), which belongs to the ecclesiastical province of Mbeya.
