History
Spanning parts of three regions of Northern Italy, Piedmont (Province of Alessandria), Lombardy (Province of Pavia) and Liguria (Province of Genoa), the Diocese of Tortona (Latin: Dioecesis Derthonensis) is a Latin Church diocese suffragan to the metropolitan Archdiocese of Genoa and part of the ecclesiastical region of Liguria. It claims a place among the oldest dioceses of Lombardy and the Piedmont.
