Chaldean Catholic archeparchy for all of Turkey, first established in 1531 as the Diocese of Amid and promoted to archeparchy on 3 January 1966 after decades of vacancy following the Assyrian genocide. It is immediately subject to the Chaldean Patriarch of Babylon; the historic seat is St. Mary's Cathedral in Diyarbakir, though the archbishop resides in Istanbul.
