The Syriac Catholic Apostolic Exarchate of Venezuela was erected on 22 June 2001 by Pope John Paul II for Syriac Catholic faithful throughout the country. Exempt and immediately subject to the Holy See, its seat is the Catedral Catolica Siria de Nuestra Senora de la Asuncion in Maracay, Aragua state.

History
Faithful of the Syriac Catholic Church in Venezuela are served by an apostolic exarchate, a missionary ecclesiastical territory exempt directly to the Holy See (specifically the Roman Congregation for the Oriental Churches) and outside any ecclesiastical province. Its cathedral, the Catedral Católica Siria de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, dedicated to the Assumption of Mary, stands in the episcopal see of Maracay, Aragua.
