The Diocese of Mbinga held a funeral Mass on September 17, 2026, to honor Father Andreas Joseph Ndimbo, who died on September 14, 2026, at the age of 83. Father Ndimbo served the Church for 53 years and was the first Caritas Director for the diocese.

Bishop Eusebio Kyando of the Diocese of Njombe presided over the celebration because Bishop John Chrysostom Ndimbo of the Diocese of Mbinga was in Rome. The service was attended by clergy, religious communities, seminarians, government leaders, and Catholic faithful.

Father Ndimbo was born on December 3, 1943, in Litembo Parish and was ordained to the priesthood in 1973.

St. Wilihelm Primary School held its 12th graduation ceremony for Standard Seven pupils on Saturday, September 12, 2026. The Diocese of Mbinga hosted the event to celebrate the academic and spiritual development of the students.

Graduates participated in various performances, including songs, dances, poems, and creative presentations. The Diocese of Mbinga stated that these displays reflect the students' cultural and spiritual formation alongside their academic growth.

Parents, teachers, clergy, and members of the faithful attended the ceremony. The Diocese noted that the school serves its pastoral mission by investing in education to nurture both the intellect and the faith of young people.

Priests from the Catholic Diocese of Mbinga played a football match against Benedictine Brothers from Peramiho Abbey on Saturday, September 5, 2026. The game took place at the CCM Football Pitch in Mbinga Town.

The match ended in a 1–1 draw. According to the Diocese of Mbinga, the encounter served to celebrate fraternity and unity between the two communities while highlighting the historical and spiritual ties between the diocese and the abbey.

Bishop John C. Ndimbo confirmed 192 faithful at Mapipili Outstation on August 19, 2026. The ceremony took place within the Matiri Parish community of the Catholic Diocese of Mbinga.

Parish priest Father Adolar Ndunguru and assistant parish priest Father Francis Ndunguru concelebrated the Mass alongside seminarians. Hundreds of people attended the event to witness the sacrament.

Father Jürgen Vorndran, the Vicar General to the Bishop of the Diocese of Würzburg, Germany, made his first pastoral visit to the Diocese of Mbinga on August 31, 2026. The visit served to strengthen the partnership between the Diocese of Mbinga and the Diocese of Würzburg.

On September 1, 2026, Father Vorndran met with the Board of Directors of the Diocese of Mbinga. The meeting provided an opportunity to share pastoral experiences from both Würzburg and Mbinga regarding evangelization and pastoral care.

The Diocese of Mbinga celebrated the priesthood anniversaries of two priests during a Jubilee Mass at St. Kilian Cathedral Church on August 15, 2026.

The Mass honored Fr. Simon Ndunguru (Kausingizi) for 50 years of priesthood and Fr. Mamertus Ndunguru for 25 years of priesthood. The diocese held the celebration to recognize their years of service and to thank God for their ministry among the faithful.
