    The Diocese of Mbinga held a funeral Mass on September 17, 2026, to honor Father Andreas Joseph Ndimbo, who died on September 14, 2026, at the age of 83. Father Ndimbo served the Church for 53 years and was the first Caritas Director for the diocese.

    Bishop Eusebio Kyando of the Diocese of Njombe presided over the celebration because Bishop John Chrysostom Ndimbo of the Diocese of Mbinga was in Rome. The service was attended by clergy, religious communities, seminarians, government leaders, and Catholic faithful.

    Father Ndimbo was born on December 3, 1943, in Litembo Parish and was ordained to the priesthood in 1973.
