Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Brentwood will host its ninth Marian Conference on Oct. 9 and 10. The 26-hour event, themed "With Mary, we celebrate life," features a keynote talk from Father Shenan Boquet, a bioethicist and president of Human Life International from the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux.
The conference begins Friday night with a Mass celebrated by Bishop Michael C. Barber, SJ, followed by Father Boquet's presentation. The schedule includes three Masses, such as a Saturday evening Mass of Anticipation with Father Quang Dong and Father Erick Villa and a Saturday morning Mass that includes the Anointing of the Sick.
Attendees can participate in a candlelit Marian procession, overnight Adoration, and two opportunities for confession. The event also offers a ceremony for people to enroll in the Brown Scapular.
