Pope Leo XIV reflected on the impact of his September visit to France

Catholic Intelligence1 min read

Pope Leo XIV described his recent apostolic journey to France as a period of many blessings. Speaking to journalists during his return trip at the end of September, the pope noted that his time in Lourdes allowed him to accompany the sick and the elderly. He also highlighted a gathering of 80,000 young people at a stadium, noting their enthusiasm and sense of hope.

Sociologist Pietro Pisarra evaluated the trip as a success. Pisarra noted that approximately 800,000 people attended the papal Mass held between Place de la Concorde and the Champs-Élysées. He stated that the visit also generated spiritual fervor and drew attention to the defense of life within secular France.
