Archdiocese of Sevilla holds first Cursillo de Cristiandad in prison
Twenty inmates participated in the first Cursillo de Cristiandad held at the Sevilla II prison in Morón de la Frontera. Organized by the Diocesan Secretariat of the Archdiocese of Sevilla, the program focused on prayer and personal encounters with Jesus Christ.
Archbishop José Ángel Saiz Meneses presided over the closing session. He was joined by José Ignacio del Rey Guanter, president of the Cursillos de Cristiandad movement, along with consiliario Adrián Sanabria, vice-consiliario Manuel Jiménez, and spiritual director Ignacio del Rey Molina. Prison chaplains Roy Mavadana and Manuel Franco, along with volunteers from the prison ministry, also attended the event.
The movement's president stated that the program allowed inmates to approach the Gospel through their own life circumstances and discover a new path through faith.
