Archdiocese of Udine to present book on Santa Maria del Castello church
The Istituto Pio Paschini will present a new book about the parish church of Santa Maria del Castello on Friday, October 30, at 17.30. The event will take place at the church in Udine.
The volume, titled *Santa Maria del castello. L’antica pieve di Udine*, was edited by Cesare Scalon and Gianpaolo Trevisan. It is the third publication in a series dedicated to the monuments of the Patriarchate of Aquileia. The book includes twelve contributions and a photographic collection by Luca Laureati.
Archbishop Riccardo Lamba, Luciano Nobile, and Cesare Scalon will open the presentation. Other speakers include Sandro Piussi, director of the diocesan office for cultural heritage and religious buildings; Luca Mor of the Istituto Pio Paschini; and Fabio Franz, curator of the Civic Museums of Udine. Anna Piuzzi will moderate the session, and the Schola Aquileiensis, directed by Claudio Zinutti, will perform music.
The presentation follows the reopening of the church for worship in October 2025, after a nine-year closure for restoration.
