Pope Leo XIV writes message for World Mission Day 2026

Catholic Intelligence1 min read

Pope Leo XIV has written a message for World Mission Day 2026 titled "One in Christ, united in mission." The message serves as the theme for the upcoming celebration on October 18.

The Missio Foundation has released various resources to help parishes, dioceses, and missionary groups use the papal message for prayer and solidarity. These materials include a reflection on the theme by Giuseppe Pizzoli, director of the Missio Foundation, and a plan for Sunday celebrations throughout October. Students from the Pio XI Regional Pontifical Seminary in Molfetta prepared this year's Sunday animation proposals.

Additional resources include a prayer vigil, a missionary rosary guide, and Eucharistic Adoration plans created by the missionary commission of the Puglia Region. For children and preadolescents, the Missio Ragazzi Secretariat developed a guide that offers a weekly mission and practical ways to live the Gospel through simple gestures of friendship.
