Arcivescovo Mario Delpini to read Cantico delle Creature in Milano

Archbishop Mario Delpini will open a day of cultural events by reading the original Franciscan version of the Canticle of the Creatures at the Biblioteca degli Alberi Milano (BAM) botanical garden in Portanuova. The reading is scheduled for Sunday, October 4, to coincide with the feast of Saint Francis of Assisi.

The event, directed by Francesca Colombo, features seven original artistic commissions intended to provide a contemporary reading of the Franciscan message. The program includes new poetic works by Mariangela Gualtieri and Franco Arminio, as well as a theatrical production titled Il Cantico per le città. Directed by Andrea Chiodi, this play incorporates interpretations from five contemporary playwrights and various Italian actors.

The project, promoted by the Fondazione Riccardo Catella, involves more than 60 artists. It aims to connect the power of words with the beauty of nature through performances and installations that run from morning until evening.
