Cardinal Parolin pays tribute to Pope St. John Paul II (Vatican News)

Catholic IntelligenceUpdated 1 min read

Cardinal Pietro Parolin celebrated Mass at the tomb of Pope St. John Paul II on October 22 to mark the saint's feast day.

During his homily, the Vatican Secretary of State used a verse from one of St. John Paul II's poems to describe the late pope's ministry. Parolin said that, like the Apostle Peter, St. John Paul II served as a foundation that helped many people advance their faith toward Christ. He noted that the pope's devotion to Christ acted as a model, a support, and a guide for believers.
