Սուրբ Աթոռի և Հայ Կաթողիկէ Առաջնորդության ներկայացուցիչները մասնակցում են COP-17 խորհրդաժողովին

Representatives from the Holy See and the Armenian Catholic Leadership are participating in the COP-17 biodiversity conference held in Yerevan from October 19 to 30, 2026. The summit brings together representatives from 17 countries that signed the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity to address the loss of biodiversity and the preservation of ecosystems, plants, and animals.

The Holy See delegation includes Papal Legate Archbishop Yozich, Secretary of the Nunciature Monsignor Alexander Rahinian, and administrator Sofia Poghosyan. Representing the Armenian Catholic Leadership is Very Reverend Komitas Davoyan, likely accompanied by Archbishop Gevorg Noratounkian.

The Holy See holds permanent observer status at the United Nations and various environmental conferences, including COP summits. While not a signatory to the Convention on Biological Diversity, the Holy See officially joined the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Paris Agreement in 2022.
