Diocese of Milano to host SocialCrew Talks

Catholic IntelligenceUpdated 1 min read

The Diocese of Milano will host the SocialCrew Talks on Saturday, October 24, at the Auditorium Cascina Triulza – MIND. The event serves as a meeting for priests, religious sisters, educators, facilitators, and youth center leaders to review the first year of the SocialCrew Oratorio – Nuovi narratori digitali project and share their experiences.

Promoted by the Fondazione oratori milanesi (Fom), the two-year project explores whether social media can help teenagers build authentic relationships or if digital spaces are primarily defined by polarization and violence. The initiative involves approximately 1,000 adolescents between the ages of 15 and 19 across 76 youth centers, supported by about 150 young educators and Fom facilitators.

The program includes presentations from Lorenzo Opizzi and Matteo Jacopini of ScuolaZoo regarding social media storytelling, as well as a session by radio host Luigi Santarelli on the social and educational value of communication. The day will also feature workshops and personal testimonies. The project receives support from Intesa Sanpaolo.
