Cardinal Cobo encourages laity to transform society at Lay Apostolate Days
The Episcopal Commission for Laity, Family, and Life held the 47th National Days for Lay Apostolate delegates and leaders of movements and associations on October 24 and 25 in Madrid. Under the theme "Church walking with humanity," the meeting gathered more than 120 participants from diocesan delegations and various lay movements across Spain. More than 1,250 people registered to follow the presentation by the Archbishop of Madrid, Cardinal José Cobo, online.
The event sought to deepen the Social Doctrine of the Church, strengthen communion among lay apostolate leaders, and increase Christian presence in public life through the Gospel. Bishop Carlos Escribano Subías, Archbishop of Zaragoza and president of the commission, opened the meeting with prayer and a greeting. Raúl Tinajero, director of the commission's secretariat, described the gathering as an opportunity to strengthen formation and share mission.
