Bishop Sebastian Chico Martinez continues his pastoral visit to parishes in the Sierra Mágina deanery

Bishop Sebastian Chico Martinez visited parishes in the Mágina Norte area as part of a process to prepare five parishes for a future pastoral unit. During his visit, the Bishop of Jaén met with parishioners, prayed with local communities, and observed the social, economic, and cultural conditions of the towns.

On Wednesday, October 21, the Bishop visited the parish of the Assumption of Our Lady in Garcíez. After meeting with children in catechesis, he prayed for the deceased at the local cemetery and visited elderly residents. He also met with the local town hall in the municipality of Bedmar and Garcíez.

Before celebrating Mass, the Bishop met with the parish pastoral council. He encouraged council members to work with neighboring parishes to build a more active ecclesial community while maintaining the specific identity of each local parish.
