Kolbe Cathedral Prep celebrates 50 years
Hundreds of alumni, teachers, and supporters gathered at the Country Club of New Canaan for an anniversary gala to celebrate 50 years of Kolbe Cathedral Preparatory School.
Jo-Anne Jakab received an honor for her more than 40 years of leadership and service at the school. She also recognized posthumous honorees Leo Van Munching, Jr., Jonathan O’Herron Sr., and Joaquin Paul Rodriguez. Jakab described these men as providing the time, talent, and treasure necessary to build the school's foundation.
These contributors helped maintain a financial program that allows the school to offer affordable tuition in Fairfield County. This support assists families working at poverty or low-income levels. The Catholic high school is located in one of Connecticut’s poorest cities and maintains high graduation and college acceptance rates.
