Pope Leo XIV to Korean clergy: be guardians of memory, witnesses of hope and artisans of peace

Catholic IntelligenceUpdated 1 min read

Pope Leo XIV told Korean priests, religious brothers, sisters, and nuns to act as guardians of memory, witnesses of hope, and artisans of peace during a meeting in Rome on October 5, 2026. Addressing the group of Korean clergy and consecrated persons residing in Rome, the pope said Catholics on a peninsula marked by political instability and division must be people of reconciliation.

The pope encouraged the group to never tire of doing good, even when it goes unseen. He also referenced the Korean martyrs and the upcoming World Youth Day in 2027.
