Bishop Jerzy Mazur celebrates St. Teresa of the Child Jesus in Ełk

Bishop Jerzy Mazur presided over a Mass celebrating Saint Therese of the Child Jesus at the Ełk Carmel on October 1. The saint serves as the patron of missions and a co-patron of the monastery.

During his homily, Bishop Mazur described the spirituality of Saint Therese as a path of total trust in God. He explained that her approach relied on performing small, everyday tasks with love, humility, and simplicity rather than heroic deeds. The bishop noted that Therese embraced her weakness and smallness, believing that even minor tasks performed with great love please God.

Bishop Mazur also expressed gratitude for the presence of the Carmelite sisters within the Diocese of Ełk. He encouraged the community to use the feast as a time to thank God for the life and holiness of Saint Therese.
