Pope Leo XIV to visit Assisi

Catholic IntelligenceUpdated 1 min read

Pope Leo XIV will visit Assisi from October 25 to 27 to participate in the 40th annual interreligious prayer meeting for peace. The gathering marks the anniversary of the historic meeting convened by Pope John Paul II in 1986, which brought together representatives of all religions to pray for peace.

Felice Accrocca, the bishop of Assisi, said the community is happy about the pope's return to the city. He stated that the presence of the pope and other religious leaders can strengthen a shared effort against all forms of violence. During the event, the pope will join hundreds of religious representatives from around the world.
