Pope Leo XIV to lead prayer vigil with 80,000 young people in Paris

Catholic IntelligenceUpdated 1 min read

Pope Leo XIV led a prayer vigil with at least 80,000 young Catholics at the Stade de France on Friday, September 25, 2026. The program included an artistic performance featuring live horses and fireworks, as well as prayer before the relics of the Holy Tunic and the Holy Cross.

During the event, the pope answered two questions and delivered a meditation. He told the young people that their struggle is a battle of faith that must avoid violence, contempt, or oppression, stating that their only weapon is given love. He encouraged them to live the gospel and follow the examples of the saints.
