Paradas celebrates 50 years since the first procession of the Holy Burial Brotherhood

Catholic IntelligenceUpdated 1 min read

Archbishop José Ángel Saiz Meneses presided over a Mass in the Plaza de España in Paradas to mark the 50th anniversary of the first procession of the Brotherhood of the Holy Burial. The liturgy was concelebrated by parish priest Juan Dorado and attended by Mayor Rafael Cobano, members of the brotherhood, and representatives from nearby towns such as Arahal and Marchena.

During his homily, Archbishop Saiz Meneses stated that the anniversary serves as an opportunity to look back with gratitude and look toward the future with hope. He noted that a brotherhood exists to help its members love God and their neighbors. He also thanked the members who founded the brotherhood 50 years ago and those who have maintained its work since then.

The anniversary celebrations in Paradas include a series of lectures, a charity band competition, and various exhibitions. During a triduum, the brotherhood was awarded the Medalla de Oro de la Villa de Paradas.
