Pope Leo XIV meets Jesus Youth International Conference 2026

Catholic IntelligenceUpdated 1 min read

Pope Leo XIV met with delegates and leaders of the Jesus Youth international movement during an audience in the Paul VI Hall on October 24, 2026. This meeting marks the first time the movement's leaders and delegates have met with the Pope.

The conference, which runs from October 20 to October 25, includes 1,128 representatives from 41 countries, including 15 bishops, 63 priests, and 12 religious women. The movement, founded 40 years ago in Kerala, India, as part of the Charismatic Renewal, has been recognized by the Holy See as an international association for ten years.

During his address, the Pope encouraged the participants to maintain their youthful enthusiasm for the faith and to expand their missionary work into new countries. He also asked the group to work with families to support the vocation of marriage. The Pope noted that the movement has spent the last three years in a period of synodal consultation to discern its future direction.
