Pope Leo XIV meets Pontificio Collegio Teutonico di Santa Maria community

Catholic IntelligenceUpdated 1 min read

Pope Leo XIV met with the community of the Pontificio Collegio Teutonico di Santa Maria in Campo Santo to mark the 150th anniversary of its foundation. During the meeting, the Pope described the institution as a space for training to address modern challenges.

The Pope noted that the college historically served as a place of refuge and study for priests from the German-speaking area when clerical activities were hindered by the Kulturkampf. He stated that the community must continue to serve as a center for unity and formation.
