Pope Leo XIV to meet with bishops' conference leaders

Catholic IntelligenceUpdated 1 min read

Pope Leo XIV began a meeting in the Vatican on October 7 with 187 participants, including 111 presidents of bishops' conferences. The gathering, which runs until October 14, marks the tenth anniversary of the post-synodal apostolic exhortation Amoris Laetitia.

Archbishop Tadeusz Wojda, president of the Polish Episcopal Conference, noted that the Church needs the faith and experiences of families as much as families need the Church. The meeting follows the 2014–2015 synod on the family that led to the publication of Amoris Laetitia, a document that addressed whether divorced and remarried Catholics could receive the Eucharist.
