Providence Catholic School celebrates 75 years

Catholic IntelligenceUpdated 1 min read

Providence Catholic School launched its 75th anniversary year with an opening Mass held on September 12 at the school's Glahn Gymnasium in downtown San Antonio. Archbishop Gustavo García-Siller, MSpS, presided over the liturgy, which was attended by students, alumnae, families, and members of the Congregation of Divine Providence.

The school was established in 1951 as Providence High School. In 2005, the institution expanded to include sixth, seventh, and eighth grades, transitioning the North St. Mary’s Street campus into a combined middle and high school.
