Seraphic Sisters of Texas Golden Jubilee
The Seraphic Sisters of Texas celebrated their Golden Jubilee on September 13, marking 50 years of service in the state. The jubilee festivities began with a Mass at St. Ann Parish in Kosciusko, presided over by Archbishop Gustavo García-Siller, MSpS.
During the liturgy, Archbishop García-Siller noted that the sisters have served through prayer, classroom instruction, and visits to the sick and elderly. More than 20 priests concelebrated the Mass. The community honored the pioneer sisters who first arrived in Texas in 1976, noting they provided care to the lonely and those nearing the end of life despite facing language and cultural barriers.
The celebration concluded with a gala dinner for sisters, nursing home residents, families, staff, and benefactors.
