The Diocese of Setúbal begins celebrations for the centenary of the birth of Bishop Manuel Martins

The Manuel Martins Foundation has started a year-long project to mark the centenary of the birth of Bishop Manuel Martins. This project includes a book and a celebratory exhibition titled "Faça-se luz."

The foundation intends for the year of celebration to encourage the territory to focus on community building and providing practical responses to the daily lives of people. The program will also include a tribute to Professor Eugénio Fonseca, who died in August.

Bishop Manuel Martins served as the bishop of the Diocese of Setúbal until 1998.
