Sisters of Charity of Nazareth Celebrate Graduation in Kenya
Fifty-six children graduated from pre-primary school at St. Francis of Assisi Academy in Marereni, Kenya, on Oct. 21, 2026. The ceremony included prayers of thanksgiving and performances by school scouts and students, including a traditional Giriama dance. The graduates will enter first grade next year.
The event also marked the official registration of the academy as Marereni Catholic Primary School. Sister Helan Sathiya, SCN, reported that this registration opens new opportunities for the students.
Father Dennis Nyagwencha, the education director for the Catholic Diocese of Malindi, attended the celebration along with members of the school board and Emma Mundu, the former chairperson of the Marereni church. Families and the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth also participated in the program.
