UCIIM Puglia to hold online meeting on artificial intelligence and human dignity

UCIIM Puglia will host an online meeting titled Magnifica Humanitas on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at 16:00 to discuss the relationship between artificial intelligence, human dignity, and ethical responsibility. The event seeks to examine how technological progress can be managed without losing sight of the value of the human person.

Vittoria Fiorentino, the regional president of UCIIM Puglia, will introduce the meeting, which will include greetings from Archbishop Franco Moscone of Manfredonia-Vieste-San Giovanni Rotondo.

The program features two presentations. Father Giovanni Antonacci, a priest and ecclesiastical consultant for the UCIIM sections of Manfredonia, Vieste, and San Giovanni Rotondo, will speak on how the Church faces the challenges of artificial intelligence. Michele Illiceto, a professor of philosophical anthropology at the ISSRM Saint Michael the Archangel in Foggia, will discuss the anthropological and ethical aspects of the technology. Participants can join via Google Meet or watch the live stream on YouTube.
