The Diocese of Lugano announced that the Missione Interna will hold a collection for pastoral projects on September 19 and 20, 2026, during the Festa federale. The funds support 53 pastoral projects across Switzerland, including assistance for priests in difficulty.

The Missione Interna uses 600 mila franchi to fund various Church activities. In the Diocese of Lugano, the money helps small mountain parishes with limited financial resources and supports hospital chaplaincy. In the Diocese of Sion, funds go toward special spiritual care, the formation of adults and youth, and spiritual assistance for foreigners.

Other regional allocations include support for chaplaincy associations in German-speaking Switzerland to ensure Sunday celebrations can be held in mountain areas. In western Switzerland, funds assist homeless and marginalized people through reception centers, integration projects, and spiritual accompaniment. The collection also provides resources for youth gatherings and migrant ministry throughout the country.
