San Conrado Mission was founded in 1939 by Claretian pastor Fr. Thomas Marin to serve the isolated Solano Avenue community near Elysian Park. Named for St. Conrad of Parzham, a Capuchin lay brother canonized in 1934. The current chapel was built in the 1960s.
