The Archdiocese of Los Angeles is the largest Catholic jurisdiction in the United States, established in 1922 and elevated to an archdiocese in 1936. It is the metropolitan see for the Province of Los Angeles and has been led by Archbishop José H. Gomez since 2011.

History
Covering the counties of Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, and Ventura in the southern part of California, the Archdiocese of Los Angeles (Latin: Archidiœcesis Angelorum in California, Spanish: Arquidiócesis de Los Ángeles) is a Catholic archdiocese in the United States. Its cathedral is the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in Los Angeles, and José Horacio Gómez Velasco serves as its present archbishop.
