St. John the Evangelist Church

Founded as a mission of St. Peter's Church (Barclay Street, NYC) in 1820 and named a parish in 1837. The present Gothic church and convent on Murray Avenue was dedicated in 1885; its school was the first Catholic school in Orange County.
