St. Joseph's Church on Poplar Avenue, Rossville, established 1848 as a mission of St. Peter's, is the oldest extant Roman Catholic church on Staten Island. It is a worship site of the St. Joseph - St. Thomas St. John Neumann Parish, formed July 1, 2017. The parish Mass schedule is celebrated at St. Thomas the Apostle (8:00 AM and 6:00 PM Saturday; 9:00/11:00 AM English, 10:00 AM Italian, 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM Sunday; weekdays 7:00 and 8:00 AM; monthly Polish and Nigerian Masses); no separate regular schedule listed for St. Joseph's Church itself.
