St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Mission in Yulee, Florida, was established to serve the growing Catholic community in Nassau County. In 2014, Bishop Estevez approved naming the mission after St. Francis of Assisi and appointed Fr. Daniel Guindon as Administrator. The mission began holding weekly Saturday Vigil Masses at the Yulee United Methodist Church, with attendance increasing to around 220 people by 2015. On May 16, 2015, a groundbreaking ceremony was held for the new church site, and on March 17, 2016, the mission was dedicated in its current location along US Highway A1A. The facility seats 300 parishioners and includes areas for meetings, offices, a kitchen, and an adoration chapel.
