History
Erected in 1870, the Diocese of St. Augustine (Latin: Dioecesis Sancti Augustini) covers much of North Florida, taking in the northeastern section of the state including the cities of St. Augustine, Jacksonville, and Gainesville. A suffragan of Miami, it has its bishop's seat at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine. Erik T. Pohlmeier is the bishop.
