St. Mary Catholic Church in Escondido traces its origins to 1888, when the Escondido Land and Town Company donated the land and bricks for the first church, making it one of the oldest parishes in the Diocese of San Diego. The current church building was constructed in 1965, and the parish maintains a perpetual adoration chapel.
