Central and north-east Victoria, including Bendigo, form the territory of the Diocese of Sandhurst, a Latin Church jurisdiction erected in 1874 and suffragan to the metropolitan Archdiocese of Melbourne. The bishop's seat is Sacred Heart Cathedral in Bendigo.
