• Paróquia de Guajeru holds formation for altar servers

  Santa Rosa de Viterbo Parish in Guajeru held five training sessions for approximately 50 altar servers on Saturday, September 26. The sessions took place in the parish headquarters and across several rural communities, including Serra Linda, Lagoa do Arroz, Maxixe, Campo Frio, and Posse. The training allowed altar servers from different locations to participate in formation and fellowship within their own zones. Participants reflected on the importance of their service to the community and worked to strengthen connections between the servers and those who assist in their formation. The sessions included propedeutic seminarians Marcos and José, along with altar servers responsible for the Altar Server Ministry. The program aimed to strengthen the ministry throughout the entire parish.

• Paróquia Santo Antônio in Guanambi celebrates 1st Anniversary of Dedication of Church Altar

  The Santo Antônio Parish in Guanambi celebrated the 1st anniversary of the dedication of its main church altar during a Mass on Monday, September 21. Parish priest Father João Silva de Sá Teles presided over the liturgy, which included representatives from local pastoral communities, movements, and groups. The celebration included the Pequenas Filhas de São José, a congregation with a spiritual connection to the parish. One year ago, on the date of the altar's dedication, a first-class relic of Blessed José Baldo, the founder of the Pequenas Filhas de São José, was placed within the altar. The Mass also served to thank donors, benefactors, and tithers who funded the renovation of the presbytery and the construction of the sacristy. Father Teles described the church as a space for prayer, silence, and holiness intended to facilitate encounters between God and the faithful.

• Paróquia São Francisco de Assis in Guanambi celebrates Transitus of Saint Francis

  The São Francisco de Assis Parish in Guanambi celebrated the Transitus of Saint Francis on September 24. The community held the event to honor the saint's passing from earthly to eternal life and to mark the 3rd anniversary of the parish's creation. While the Transitus is traditionally observed on October 3, the parish moved the celebration to September 24 to coincide with its anniversary. This year's observance occurs during the Franciscan Holy Year, which prepares for the 800th anniversary of the saint's death. Bishop Dom José Roberto Silva Carvalho of the Diocese of Caetité designated the São Francisco de Assis Parish as a location to obtain indulgences during this period. The celebration included the Irmãs Terciárias Franciscanas Regulares, Father Leandro Martins, the CPJ, local youth, and various community members.
