History
In Maranhão state in northeastern Brazil, the Diocese of Carolina (Latin: Dioecesis Carolinensis in Brasilia) is a suffragan see of the ecclesiastical province of São Luís do Maranhão. Its cathedral, the Catedral São Pedro de Alcântara in the city of Carolina, Maranhão, honors Saint Peter of Alcantara.
