    PUC Goiás launched a countdown for the 19th National Eucharistic Congress on September 16. To mark the start of the preparations, the university installed a special clock at Campus I in front of the rectorate, located near the University Square. Archbishop João Justino, who serves as the grand chancellor of PUC Goiás, led the ceremony and blessed the clock. He noted that the university has been involved since the initial discussions to host the congress in Goiânia and that academic members are serving on various organizing committees. The archbishop stated that the clock serves to announce the event in a high-traffic area of the city. The Archdiocese of Goiânia will host the congress from September 3 to 7, 2027. The ceremony included university rector Olga Izilda Ronchi, vice-rector Priscila Valverde, and pro-rector Rosemary Neves.
