The see is sede vacante as of 2026 after Bishop José Roberto Fortes Palau was transferred to the Archdiocese of Sorocaba on January 8, 2026, with Father Cassio Roberto Rossette serving as diocesan administrator.

The CNBB added that accusing the institution of participating in disinformation without proof unfairly targets the organization and undermines the responsibility required during an election.

  • Diocese of Bragança Paulista participates in 47th Ecclesial Assembly of CNBB Regional Sul 1

    The Diocese of Bragança Paulista joined approximately 270 representatives from dioceses and archdioceses across São Paulo for the 47th Ecclesial Assembly of the CNBB Regional Sul 1.
