In the upper Amazon River basin, this Latin suffragan see (Latin: Dioecesis Fluminis Albi Superioris) belongs to the ecclesiastical province of the Metropolitan Archbishop of Porto Velho (Rondônia). Its cathedral, the Marian Catedral Nossa Senhora de Nazaré, honoring Our Lady of Nazareth, stands in the city of Rio Branco in Acre state, Brazil.
