History
In Lombardy, in Northwestern Italy, the Diocese of Brescia (Latin: Dioecesis Brixiensis) is a Latin diocese of the Catholic Church within the province of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Milan. Its episcopal seat is the 'new' cathedral of Brescia, the Cattedrale di S. Maria Assunta e Ss. Pietro e Paolo (Duomo Nuovo), dedicated to the Assumption of Mary and to the Apostles Peter and Paolo.
