History
In Lombardy, in Northwestern Italy, the Diocese of Brescia (Latin: Dioecesis Brixiensis) is a Latin diocese of the Catholic Church within the province of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Milan. Its episcopal seat is the 'new' cathedral of Brescia, the Cattedrale di S. Maria Assunta e Ss. Pietro e Paolo (Duomo Nuovo), dedicated to the Assumption of Mary and to the Apostles Peter and Paolo.

Diocese of Brescia to hold press conference on 800th anniversary of St. Francis' death
The Diocese of Brescia will hold a press conference on Friday, September 25, to present a series of celebrations and initiatives marking the 800th anniversary of the death of St. Francis of Assisi. The event is scheduled for 11 a.m. at the Centro Sanguineti, the social communications center located on via Callegari in Brescia. Franciscan communities in Brescia are organizing these activities in collaboration with the diocese.

The Diocese of Brescia is resuming the "Giovani in Missione" program to prepare young people and youth centers for the summer of 2027. The program aims to foster universal fraternity and help participants develop the humanity requested by Pope Leo XIV. The path is designed for both young people and oratories.
