Archbishop Smith calls faithful to pray for renewal
Archbishop Smith of the Archdiocese of Vancouver has released a prayer card to help the faithful pray for the renewal process launched last Pentecost. The cards began arriving in parishes during September. The prayer card features the Prayer for Renewal written by Archbishop Smith on one side. The other side contains an image of a crucifix over mountains and rivers, which represents the local landscape. The card also includes the passage from the Book of Revelation: Behold, I make all things new. The Archbishop intends for the cards to encourage the faithful to pray together to discern the movements of the Holy Spirit. The crucifix in the image is meant to remind people that renewal is the work of the Lord.
