Latin-rite metropolitan archdiocese in Shanxi province, China, erected in 1890 as the Apostolic Vicariate of Northern Shansi and elevated to metropolitan archdiocese in 1946. Its seat is the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Taiyuan, with suffragan sees including Datong, Fenyang, Hongdong, Lu'an, Shuozhou and Yuci. Archbishop Paul Meng Ningyou has led the see since 2013 and was publicly active through 2025.
