A suffragan of the Archdiocese of Lanzhou, its seat is the Dongguan Cathedral in Tianshui; Bishop John Wang Ruowang has led the diocese since 2011.

History

Established as an apostolic vicariate on April 28, 1905, the Diocese of Qinzhou (Latin: Dioecesis Zinceuvensis; Chinese: 天主教秦州教區; formerly spelled Tsinchow) is a Latin Catholic diocese seated in Qinzhou, Tianshui, in Gansu (formerly Kansu), western China, within the ecclesiastical province of Lanzhou. The government controlled Catholic Patriotic Association refers to it as the Diocese of Tianshui. Its neighbors are the Diocese of Fengxiang and the Diocese of Hanzhong to the east, the Archdiocese of Lanzhou to the northwest, the Diocese of Pingliang to the northeast, the Diocese of Kangding to the southwest, and the Diocese of Chengdu to the southeast.
